LittleNomad.com Is Shutting Down

So the time has come....after almost 2 years of contemplation, I will really be shutting down this blog on the 13th of June with no intention to start blogging again. As of this month's Friday the 13th, it would have been exactly the 5th birthday of this blog. It has been really slow and hard for me to decide on this matter and to come to this decision because this blog was an integral part of my life for most of its existence. I started this blog way back in June 2003 to start recording my travels simply because I didn't want to physically carry a pen and journal with me. Then for the next 3+ years I was actively blogging, about 2 or 3 entries per week. It takes up a lot of time to crop the photographs, think up of silly stories, edit my entries, including code modification, organisation, etc. For the last 1+ years, I have just contemplated on and off again about shutting down LittleNomad.com. Finally, I'm really going to close down the blog and break free from blogging forever. As you can see, these days I'm hardly blogging, not because there is nothing happening or nothing to say but I just don't have the time nor presence of mind to blog. The blogger in me is dead...and so is LittleNomad.com.

I was also hesitant about closing down the blog because LittleNomad.com had been recording events in my life from which I would not have remembered otherwise. Looking back, it's been a really eventful 5 years. I don't know what's going to happen in the next 5 years but I'm sure there's more good and bad times to come...that is if I make it! =) I don't know where I'm going or where I'll be in 5 years' time. All I know is I'll definitely get there...

So to all the regular readers of this blog, THANK YOU so much for your support and encouragement all these years. I'm sorry to have been so slack in blogging the last 1.5 years but I think I'm all blogged out. I pray and hope you guys are having a good life or at least working towards one. Here are my last words...which could be of use to some of you guys, as you have probably learnt from reading my blog - more like words of advise which you probably don't need! =)

1. live everyday as if it was your last day.
2. every passing minute is another chance for you to make it right! have no regrets - better to have tried and failed rather than not to try at all. and if u decide to try, make sure it is your very best effort so you won't have any lingering thoughts about how you could have turned the situation around.
3. treat others how you would like them to treat you.
4. if u meet good people, keep them because they are really hard to find.
5. if you meet people that hurt you, ask yourself if it would make a big difference if they existed in your life or not. if not, then chuck them. there will be instances when it will be better to not have them in your life at all than for them to be continuously there, shooting arrows at you.
6. money can always be earned back so don't fret about spending too much or losing track of your finances.
7. at the same time, learn to save because there will always be hard times ahead. in other words, live in moderation unless you strike the lottery or marry a Paris Hilton.
8. love with all your heart, mind and soul. if it fails, love AGAIN with all your heart mind and soul.
9. without passion, you may as well quit dreaming - a man without passion is like a candle without fire, or light.
10. without a dream, you may as well quit living - remember, the future is ours to invent.

It is going to be harder for us to keep in touch, especially some of us who know each other in real life, that may have been using this blog as a communication platform with me. You're going to have to write emails to me once in a while...which is a whole heckuva lot better that the deal our parents had, when you come to think of it! They had to write snail mail that takes forever to reach it's destination.
