Easter In Denmark

Location : Copenhagen, Denmark.

Time for a holiday again!!! Last time I was in Sweden 2 years ago, I took a train to Copenhagen on a day trip with Anna. This time around, I'm making good use of the long weekend by dedicating a whole trip to Denmark alone. I thought this year, I am going to try visit more European countries as in the past, I have always been trying to save £££ instead. So here I am in Denmark to visit Charlotte...

Eating Danish Hot Dogs
Dansk Hotdog
Cigarette break
Outside Cafe Globen
Pipe organ in Sorø Monastery Church

For those who don't know, Denmark is apparently the happiest country on Earth, according to a study conducted by the University of Leicester. So I thought heck, THIS I gotta see. I mean, its so cold in the winter...can people really be happy all wrapped up in thick gloves, super warm jumpers and jackets? I've always thought you had to be naked to be happy! And if surfing makes me happy, imagine how I'd be if I was surfing nude. Now, THAT could be true bliss.

Somewhere west of Denmark
At the marina in Korsør Nor
Old bakery with traditional equipment
Old bakery along the countryside
Don't eat me, I'm so cuuuute....
Chicken for dinner?
Awesome people
Charlotte and family

I was chilling out in København for a few days, did the river trip round the canals. And for Easter, Charlotte's parents arranged an Easter lunch near Slagelse, which is a town west of Denmark. LOADS of food food glorious food!!! I ate so much I felt like exploding. Friends and family came over and we were eating from 2pm till 8pm. When I left, they were still eating!!! And all the food was so good! I have always heard of a Danish dessert called something like all-goll-mer-fleur and finally in this trip, I actually got to eat some that homemade yummy gunk! Yummm...

Ah well, too bad it was such a short trip...wish I could have stayed longer. Now I head back to UK to have the time of my life...working.

Thanks to Charlotte and her parents for such an awesome time - you guys are such great hosts!!!

The Danes are big on food; they put a lot of effort into social occasions - often centred around eating.

Must have suited you well!

Dude... Good on you for spending some time in my second home, and yes I can confirm Danes are the happiest people on the face on the earth, wouldn;t you be when you have the ability to knock back some gammel dansk snaps for breakfast, lunch and dinner! I will be in Denmark this summer for a wedding, so desperately looking forward to it!!
