Location : Madrid, Spain.
In one way or another, terrorists just love poking their nose into my life. These fucken cocksucking bastards just can't seem to get enough of causing havoc to my plans. I woke up this morning feeling so awesome that I was going to cruise into Spain tonight, a much needed break from work. By the afternoon, I'd heard news of the chaos UK airports were undergoing due to the terrorist threats and I was going to go smack right into the heart of the chaos because I had a flight to catch! Just my arse luck - the day I fly off to Spain is the day the airports had to have a terror emergency.
I received a few phone calls from mates who knew I was flying off today. Gerardo called me from Spain just to ask how do I always get myself in such situations? When the Marriott Hotel was bombed on Java island in Indonesia, I was in the country, just on the next island(Bali). Then when the tsunami hit Asia, I was surfing in the ocean but I was lucky enough to have been on the safer side of Malaysia(east coast). Last year, a day after I put this blog on a hiatus, London was bombed and I happen to be round the corner again! I was in the heart of central London and I was a tiny bit close to being at the wrong place at the wrong time. And now this plot to blow up the same airline I am using is uncovered the exact day I am flying into Spain. Gerardo is starting to wonder if I am an undercover Al Qaeda terrorist masquerading as a Malaysian surfer. If I really was a cat in my past life, I must must have used up my nine lives pretty fast! Perhaps there is some dark mysterious side of me that I don't consciously know... At least there's one thing I am quite certain about - I am destined to live a pretty eventful life!
British Airways was nice enough to offer a refund or a re-scheduling of flights but I had a wedding to attend and there was no way I could delay the flight. So, should I risk being blown to pieces in the sky? Yeah. Would be nice to have little parts of me scattered all over Europe. The flight was delayed by 2 hours, loads of machine gun-toting policemen, many long long queues at Gatwick airport. People felt hassled by the inconvenience but they understood the critical situation. I was thoroughly searched as I walked through the metal detectors. My shoes had to be removed, every surface of my skin was touched although not in the face and groin area. I did feel some fingers sliding through my arse crack and between my balls and thigh which made me feel a little embarassed but at least I didn't have to bend over to be probed. =) It was a relieve to finally get on the plane and as the plane took off into the night sky, I thought to myself if my time was up, that moment would come anytime now.
On a cheerful note, last night I made a rushed trip down to the Islington Academy in London to watch an Australian band perform. The Beautiful Girls were not really beautiful girls at all but 3 surfers that sang awesome tunes. A mate of mine(Steve) treated me to the ticket. Cheers Stevie!

We even bought the band's tour t-shirt for ONLY £5!!! The motif on my t-shirt is exactly the green artwork that you can see on The Beautiful Girl's homepage.
Now that you know what awesome luck I have while travelling, anyone fancy going surfing in Africa with me? We'd probably get to live the experience a great white shark ATTACK. =)
