Location : Reading, England.

Back in Reading. All the good weather these recent weeks have disappeared and winter is back with a vengeance. Recently, I drove through sleet that was falling from the sky sideways and it felt like I was driving through a blizzard! I knew that it was too good to be true - that summer arrived early. Not in England. After this cold spell, I hope the sun will be back with a vengeance too!

So anyway, the feeling I had to endure being away from Babette while I was in Ireland was more than I imagined it to be. I'm not much of a guy who's normally after the affection of a French hottie but...I really miss her. When I started her up, ooooh....just to hear her coo again was really gratifying! In the coming summer, she and I are going on SO many road trips to the coastline.

Ireland has been great! Brad was religiously playing music by a band from Montreal called Arcade Fire the whole time I was there. The music has kinda stuck in my mind now and Arcade Fire will always remind me of Ireland. The first 5 days were all bright and sunny but the last 2 days were cold, windy, gray and kinda miserable. I wanted to do a bit more sightseeing in Dublin but when the weather turned for the worse, I couldn't be arsed! At least I went surfing during the sunny days although it was still unforgivingly cold. If it weren't for the fact that I've not gone in the ocean at Ireland before, I think I wouldn't have jumped in the water. Not when you wake up in the morning and see frost on the car! Not when you feel like vomitting everytime you duckdive under a wave! Some guys are afraid of heights, some guys are afraid of their wives, some guys are afraid of getting caught. I am afraid of...cold water?

I haven't been here in way too long. I feel like I've missed so much with blogs I used to read, but a thousand times more with yours because you travel and do so much and meet so many people and have so many funny/interesting stories to share.

Anyways, I have quite a bit to catch up on, but thought I thought I'd leave a comment before I dive into reading everything.

Oooh oooh I was just listening to the arcade fire before - what a magical exciting coincidence I wager! You're right, something about them sounds distinctly, um, celtic/tribal/irish/that sort of place-ish. I really like "neighbourhood #3" and "woodland national anthem".

zbjernak : i haven't found any jellyfishes while surfing in the ocean here yet. knock on wood!

brains : i wouldn't really call that a proper travel but more like a short holiday. however, it feels great to be seeing new places again!
