Live 8 Live in Hyde Park

Location : London, England.

It's 4am.
Dawn in suburban London : North Harrow

Yes, I was at Live 8 and out of the whole line-up of performing artists, I heard these people live!!!

1. Snoop Dogg
2. Madonna
3. Mariah Carey
4. Paul McCartney
5. Robbie Williams
6. Scissor Sisters
7. Sting
8. Velvet Revolver
9. Pink Floyd

When I arrived, the bus dropped us off while it's hot and it was Snoop Dogg doing his stuff. Then one after another came voices that were kinda familiar which is when I realised that all of them were superstars! I mainly went to see Pink Floyd because it is the original line-up of the band. No one ever fathomed that they would be playing together as a band again but they did for Live8 and I was there! It was a bitch that they were the second last act so I had to stay till the end just to hear them croon Dark Side of the Moon, Comfortably Numb and the song that got my hair to stand on ends....Wish You Were Here.

As I mentioned in my last post, the early Pearl Jam was the most influential music I've ever listened to...like songs from the album Ten, Vs. or Temple of the Dog. When I heard Pearl Jam live in Singapore some 10 years ago, I swear I could've let loose a tear or two. Well, there were a lot of people out there who could've teared to see Pink Floyd perform again. You should've seen how Pink Floyd moved the crowd and the amount of respect the crowd gave to them.

It was amazing.

Pink Floyd were great. Only saw them on the TV, but it was a true moment(ary lapse...)!
So true; I DID wish I was there... (imagine if Syd had been there too...)
They were a great influence to me, as I was growing up, and learning my way around six strings. A great band, a great moment.
